Holding Up The Universe I love books that challenge us to “see” the people around us and remind us that the words we speak matter. This book did that for me and I think it will do it for you too.

Me (Moth) I loved this audiobook, read by the author, told in verse. This is a book with a surprise so big you will want to go back and re-read it after you finish it just so you can read it knowing what you find out in the end.

When We Were Lost A plane crash in the jungle with animals, reptiles, insects and heat set the stage for this survival story. A realistic adventure that was a fast and compelling read.

You Bring the Distant Near A story that spans three generations with a little romance and humor. I loved how connected the generations were as each character struggled to balance the responsibility they felt to their family with the desire to find their own path, it was so authentic.

With the Fire on High Rather than a story that ends when a young women gets pregnant this story begins with that and tells the inspiring story of a young women, working with her family and friends, to follow her dreams. A very inspiring story.

Book of a Thousand Days I loved this fairytale retelling told through a series of diary entries. It left me with quotes that I will be thinking about for a long time.

Spindle This is the story of Sleeping Beauty, but it is set in the Industrial Age and filled with insights on what it was like to be a young woman during that time.

Fat Chance, Charlie Vega I loved Charlie’s story! She was smart, talented, kind, and fat. At times she was insecure, other times brave and bold. It felt real and opened my eyes to challenges of being plus sized in our world.

Where I Belong I loved reading about Millie and seeing the world through her eyes as she balanced responsibility to her family, her passion for the sea, her growing interest in a boy. and her growing awareness of the role she could play in others lives if she was willing to be vulnerable and open … Read more
