It is Summer Reading Season! Print Email

Frog ReadingWelcome to summer! Keeping a list of titles to take to the beach? WCLS has got Summer Reading Programs to keep you inspired for the whole season!

Dig into ReadingKids - Dig Into Reading! This year, you’re counting the number of DAYS you read, instead of books or hours. The goal is to read every day! Visit your local library after June 15th and pick up your folder to keep track of the days you read and collect your prizes! Great summer reading events include free fun programs during the summer like Lego Show & Tell, Treasure Hunts, and Worms! at many libraries. Watch for event listings on the library’s event calendar - click on “Events” at www.WCLS.org.

You know how it works already. Read, Review, Win. To hear about this year’s prizes, see Emily Immer’s great video on the WCLS You Tube channel at youtube.com/wclslibraries.

Summer reading is not just for kids, but is something that the whole family can do together!  Grown-ups visiting the library in person can turn in an entry form for items read/watched/listened to to be entered into prize drawings.  Or from home, visit our digital library and tag items you have read/watched/listened to "WCLS2013" - this both enters you to win prizes and adds to a countywide summer reading booklist!  Just for fun, take the summer reading challenge and see how many of these items you can check off the list.  summerread3Enjoy this list of Groundbreaking Reads suggestions to get you started!  Click HEREfor all the details.
