It’s more than a year away, but expect to see the film version of Laura Hillenbrand’s Unbroken in December 2014, directed by Angelina Jolie.  Of Louie Zamperini, the 96-year old man who is the focus of the book, Jolie says, “I am deeply honored to be telling his extraordinary story, and I will do my absolute best to give him the film he deserves.”  In other recent movie news, director David Fincher (of The Social Network) is thought to have signed Ben Affleck to play the male lead in a screen adaptation of Gillian Flynn’s Gone Girl.  In the story, journalist Nick Dunne is suspected of killing his wife Amy after she disappears on their fifth wedding anniversary.  Amy may or may not be played by Reese Witherspoon, whose production company bought film rights to the book.  Check out other books-to-be-movies (LIST#1 and LIST#2)!
