|Living the Locavore Way|
Vicki Robin's new book, Blessing the Hands That Feed Us is all about our relationship with food: how we think about it, how it's grown and produced and how our actions impact the food systems around us. Robin takes an inspiring look at "locavorism" and "relational eating"--movements to eat locally and sustainably and to understand where food comes from. Much of the book centers on Robin's experience in limiting herself to food sourced from within a 10-mile radius of her home (on Whidbey Island), and her story is honest and inspiring. Her "global manifesto" may be just the thing to urge us all to rethink and reshape our eating habits.
