Library Use Continues to Grow Print

WCLS was voted into existence in 1944—58 years later, in 2002, county readers broke the 1 million mark for items checked out. Only 9 years later, the number of items checked out has grown to 1.8 million!

And over half those items were checked out at self-service stations.  Thank you Whatcom County Readers!

Library check outs grew by 9.3 percent in 2011 compared to 2010, and eBook use grew by a whopping 125 percent! Watch for more statistics in the library’s annual report later this year.
