Good Book Club Picks Print Email

Back in January, Library Journal reviewed books being published in early summer and recommended these titles as good reads for book clubs.  If you like character-driven, coming-of-age, or psychologically and emotionally rich stories, you will probably enjoy these as summer reads, even if you are not in a book club.  (Do consider joining one of the WCLS book clubs!)  The debut novel The Yonahlossee Riding Camp for Girls isn't the only one of these titles to get a lot of prepublication buzz; set during the Depression, it features a rebellious young heroine sent to a strict equestrian boarding school after a family tragedy that she had a role in.  The Good for Book Clubs - new in 2013 list includes both fiction and nonfiction selections - enjoy!
