How do I get started?

1.  A Whatcom County Library System card (This service is not available to reciprocal library card holders).

2.  An Adobe ID account with Adobe Digital Editions software installed for reading on a computer and transferring to an eReader device.

3.  An iOS or Android app for reading on tablets/smartphones

How does Freading work?

Each Monday morning WCLS card holders will receive five (5) tokens. You can download eBooks for 1, 2 or 4 tokens per eBook. Unused tokens roll over each week up to 4 weeks, and then expire. eBook token cost is determined by the publisher.


How long can I read each eBook?

You have 14 days to read each eBook. You can renew each eBook 1-one time for an additional 14 days. Most renewals don't require an additional token.

 

What devices work with Freading?

This list is not complete, the following are popular devices compatible with Freading:
Any computer or laptop running on Windows, Mac or Linux

Nook, Kobo, and Sony eReaders eReaders (when transferred from a computer or laptop).

Apple iPad and iPhone (using Freading app for iPad/iPhone.)
Android tablets and smartphones (using Freading app for Android. Your device must be compatible with Android Market.) A few examples are: Samsung Galaxy, Sony Toshiba, Acer, Asus, and Xoom.

Non-Android Market tablets and smartphones (using the Freading app from GetJar Marketplace) These include Kindle Fire and Kobo Vox.
